Villa Pnai – Our Story
I am Israeli, born and raised in Jerusalem. However, I have spent much of my life living abroad, in Japan, Australia and now England. Frequently returning to Israel to visit friends and family, with my husband and then children, we fell in love with the Galilee and found ourselves repeatedly drawn back to Rosh Pinna. Arguably the most beautiful region in Israel, the Galilee is easily accessible from Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, yet far removed from the bustle and rush of central Israel. A warm and vibrant community, Rosh Pinna is a wonderful place in which to rest and relax, and a convenient base from which to explore the surrounding countryside with its stunning natural beauty, deeply significant historic sites and wonderfully diverse leisure activities.
With the arrival of our children, and those of my siblings and friends, we increasingly looked to holiday together as an extended family, to build and enrich those relationships we hold most dear. Yet holiday villas, delightful in their own right and suitable for large yet intimate family gatherings, are few and far between. Then one day we spotted a rare plot of undeveloped land for sale, right in the heart of Rosh Pinna. This presented the perfect opportunity to combine my professional passion as an architect with my desire for an ideal family retreat in the Galilee. Villa Pnai is, I hope, the result of my best abilities as an architect and the love and care of a wife, a mother, a sister, a daughter, and a friend.
“Pnai” (פנאי) is a Hebrew word which literally translated means “leisure”; a quality experience of rest, relaxation, recreation, freedom, opportunity. The Villa is a result of our yearning for a place of “pnai” to be shared with our family and friends. We welcome you to our home-from-home which we love, and it is our wish that it becomes your place of “pnai” too.
