In the twelve years we have been visiting Rosh Pinna and the Galilee we have discovered and visited numerous sights, local attractions and outdoor activities. The list below is not complete by any means; we too have a lot more to explore. However we have included some useful information and personal recommendation for you to ponder and plan your visit:

Sport & Recreation

Tennis

Just below Villa Pnai you will find Rosh Pinna’s famous tennis courts, they are open to the public and work on first-come-first served basis. If you left your own rackets at home, we have two tennis rackets and tennis balls you can use while you stay.

Basketball

The Basketball court is located south of the tennis courts; please help yourself to one of our basketballs.

Horse-riding


Bat-Ya’ar ranch – Amuka 15min drive,10km.

Bat Ya’ar Ranch is situated in the heart of the Biriya Forest, 800 meters above Sea Level, enjoying magnificent views of the Upper Galilee including the Hula Valley & the Hermon Mountain. The ranch offers forest trails horseback rides for both adults and children. There is also a great rope-climbing structure and paint-ball range on site, a visit to Bat-Ya’ar is a great day out.

Vered HaGalil Horese riding – 10min drive, 9km.

The stables offering guided trail rides, pony rides for little ones, and western riding lessons.

Kayaking & Rafting

Kfar Blum Kayaking – 24min drive, 30km.

Kayaking in Kfar Blum offers both sedate family paddling trips and more exciting options for thrill-seekers. They raft mainly on the Jordan River and tributaries like Hatzbani and Banias. The main draw card of these excursions is the beautiful scenery through which you paddle.

Extreme Sport


Manara Cliff Challenge Park – 23min drive, 28km. For spectacular views and extreme sport, the park offers Downhill cycling, Abseiling, Zip & Mountain slides, Bungee trampoline, Archery, and a cable car. Combined the natural beauty of the setting, this is a fantastic day out.Booking essential.

Razor trails Razor Kfar Blum, Lehavot Habashan – 26 min drive, 33km. All-season outdoors activity that combines exhilarating off-road driving with spectacular scenery of the Galilee & Golan. Razor Kfar Blum offers self-drive toursin the Polaris Razor vehicles, which are light, fast and safe. Explore the Hula Valley; the Jordan River banks and Golan Heights.

Skiing & Hiking

The Hermon Ski Resort 1 hour 10 minutes drive, 66km.

Israel tallest mountain and only ski resort, Mt. Hermon is worth a visit on aclear day for skiing or hiking. At 2300m (6000ft) above sea level with stunning views to Lebanon, Syria and Israel this small ski resort offers an unusual link to the Judeo-Christian tradition. In the Bible it is referred to as Ba’al Hermon, Sion, Sirion and Senir. The Gospels say that Caesarea Philippi is located at its base, and the mountain is also thought to be the site of the Transfiguration

Terroir

Pick your own fruit farms Visit Odem or Ein Zivan during harvest months (May to October) to pick fresh cherries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, gooseberries, mulberries, red currents, grapes, pears, nectarines, peaches, figs and plums. Both farms are located in beautiful country-side and offer other facilities such as café, play-ground and picnic area.

Bershit Orchard: Kibutz Ein Zivan 34min drive, 33km.

Odem Farm: Odem village Golan Heights – 45min drive, 46km.

Wine tasting

The Golan and Upper Galilee regions provide excellent conditions for growing grapes. Combining high altitude, volcanic soil, cold winters and hot-dry summers enable the grapes to mature at a steady rate. There are numerous wineries in the Galilee, some who offer visits, talks and wine tasting. Below is a short-list.

Galil Mountain Winery: (Kibbutz Yiron) 28min drive, 30km.

Possibly the first boutique winery in the region, Galil Mountain produces a exceelent selection of white, rose and red wines. The modern-designed winery and visitor center enjoys a panoramic view of inspiring landscape of the Upper Galilee. The winery offers visitors a walk through various stages of the wine production process followed by a wine tasting session, cost is 20NIS /person.

Pelter Winery: (Kibbutz Ein Zivan) 33min drive, 34km

This winery produces high-quality wines competitively priced. The grapes are gown in the Golan, Upper Galilee, Jerusalem Mountains and Mizpe Ramon, which allows the winery to vary and refine the single vine taste. Tour of the winery and wine tasting are offered throughout the week, cost is NIS 50 /person and includes wine and cheese tasting.

Dalton Winery:(Merom Golan) 43min drive, 39km

Dalton Winery is set in the beautiful green, mountainous country of the Upper Galilee, five kilometers from the Lebanese border, overlooking the Hermon Mountain. The winery produced delicious wines from a wide variety of grapes, all gown on a single site in Merom Golan. The winery offers guided tours of the winery, followed by tastings. Cost is NIS20 / person.

5 minutes walk, located on David Shuv Street Housed in an old silk spinning mill stone building, the cinema is the village cultural heart, offering good verity of current and classic films, lectures and workshops.
